Naval Legal Service Command Junior Officer and Sailor of the Quarter

The following individuals have been selected as the Naval Legal Service Command Junior Officer of the Quarter and Sailor of the Quarter for the period of January through March 2016: The following individuals have been selected as the Naval Legal Service Command Junior Officer of the Quarter and Sailor of the Quarter for the period of January through March 2016: Junior Officer of the Quarter: Congratulations to Lt. Matthew S. Benson, judge advocate, assigned to Region Legal Service Office Southwest (RLSO SW), Detachment Ventura, Port Hueneme, California.  Benson serves as the sole legal assistance provider to Naval Base Ventura County. Additionally, he significantly enhanced RLSO SW's disaster preparedness program through the development of several improvement projects and the authoring of a new Emergency Action Plan for RLSO SW, Detachment Ventura. Benson's outstanding achievements and dedication to his duties make him most deserving of recognition as the Naval Legal Service Command Junior Officer of the Quarter. : Congratulations to Lt. Outlaw, assigned to the Navy Victims' Legal Counsel Program (VLCP) Pacific, Yokosuka, Japan.  During this period Outlaw displayed a tireless work ethic and mentored numerous Sailors from throughout the region. Her committed mentorship efforts resulted in numerous Sailors earning warfare devices, enrolling in off-duty education programs and earning various awards and accolades.  Outlaw also served as Vice President of Fleet Activities Yokosuka's First Class Petty Officer Association. Outlaw's outstanding achievements and dedication to her duties make her most deserving of recognition as the Naval Legal Service Command Sailor of the Quarter.
