Legal Ethics for Paralegals (USMC)

To train military and civilian paralegals in the areas of ethical responsibilities within the practice of law and familiarize students with various ethical responsibilities in the practice of law. During this course, students will conduct in-depth analysis of the Model Rules of Professional Responsibility and apply concepts through discussion of actual ethical issues. Topics to be covered include: authorized practice of law, confidentiality, conflicts of interest, advertising, disciplinary process, and malpractice. This course will consist of lectures and practical exercises.

Pre-Requisites

Must have a Primary MOS 4421 or service equivalent.

Target Audience

Navy Legalman, Marine Legal Service Specialist, other military or civilian paralegals employed by a branch of the armed forces or Department of Defense.
