Naval Legal Service Command Junior Officer and Sailor of the Quarter

It is my distinct pleasure to recognize outstanding Judge Advocates and Legalmen for professional excellence and dedication to service. The following individuals have been selected as the Naval Legal Service Command Junior Officer of the Quarter and Sailor of the Quarter for the period of October through December 2015: It is my distinct pleasure to recognize outstanding Judge Advocates and Legalmen for professional excellence and dedication to service. The following individuals have been selected as the Naval Legal Service Command Junior Officer of the Quarter and Sailor of the Quarter for the period of October through December 2015:
   

Junior Officer of the Quarter:  Congratulations to Lt. Megan R. Jackler, assigned to Region Legal Service Office Southeast (RLSO Southeast), Branch Office Gulfport, Mississippi. While serving as the staff judge advocate for Naval Construction Battalion Center (NCBC) Gulfport and as RLSO Southeast Branch Office Gulfport Branch Head, Jackler's performance this quarter was exemplary.  Jackler provided legal advice to NCBC Gulfport and over 30 tenant commands. She implemented a systematic review process for NCBC instructions to ensure their currency, served as recorder on a Board of Inquiry, and prosecuted multiple cases in U.S. Magistrate Court as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. She also found time to serve as a mentor to other officers and enlisted personnel in the Gulf Coast legal community. Her impressive achievements, unmatched work ethic, and total dedication to her clients and shipmates make her most deserving of recognition as the Naval Legal Service Command Junior Officer of the Quarter.

Sailor of the Quarter: Congratulations to Legalman 1st Class Ru Li,  assigned to RLSO Southeast Detachment Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Li displayed a tireless work ethic, genuine concern for service members, and commitment to duty while serving as the Detachment Guantanamo Bay command services and legal assistance paralegal. Epitomizing legalman cross-training and integration, Li worked hand-in-hand with two attorney colleagues, personally screening and preparing client issues to maximize attorney efficiency, teaming with attorneys to fulfill the needs of the command and the community, and conducting research and preparing documents under their supervision. Li was instrumental in ensuring continuity of legal assistance services after the short-fused departure of her shipmate, selflessly volunteering to staff two legal offices to provide services when needed. She prepared more than 500 powers-of-attorney and bills-of-sale, conducted 91 notarizations, and assisted more than 300 individuals seeking legal assistance. Eager to serve the Navy and her community, Li volunteered to provide interpreter services to Navy Region Southeast during the first-ever visit of Chinese Navy Task Force ships to the United States' east coast.  Her outstanding achievements make her absolutely deserving of recognition as the Naval Legal Service Command Sailor of the Quarter.
