Nomination of Commander, Navy Legal Service Command

We are pleased to announce that CAPT David G. Wilson, JAGC, U.S. Navy, has been nominated by the President to serve as Commander, Naval Legal Service Command (CNLSC), and to advance to the grade of Rear Admiral (Lower Half).  The nomination is now pending confirmation by the U.S. Senate. If confirmed by the Senate, CAPT Wilson will be the first one-star admiral to serve as CNLSC.  As previously announced, this new flag billet was approved by the Secretary of the Navy and allocated to the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG Corps) Community in August 2020.  The Deputy Judge Advocate General will no longer be dual-hatted as CNLSC, and the newly appointed CNLSC will report directly to the Chief of Naval Operations. CAPT Wilson currently serves as Assistant Judge Advocate General (Operations and Management), where he has skillfully overseen the JAG Corps’ operations and management functions for more than two years. CAPT Wilson earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Delaware, his Juris Doctorate from Delaware Law School, and his Master of Laws in International and Comparative Law from The George Washington University School of Law.  He received his Navy commission through the JAG Corps Student Program in 1992, and he is licensed to practice law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
